Welcome to English Reading and Writing. A place where children learn to read and write in a fun and structured learning environment.
Discover our timetable to find out what days and times your child can attend one of our Year 4 classes.
7 – 9 years old (max 6 children per session)
One parent/caregiver must speak enough English to support their child outside of the sessions with their reading and spellings.
Term 1
Busy Bees believes that books should be loved, cherished and offer great learning opportunties. In Term 1 your child will therefore be introduced to the Wolf Hill series by Roderick Hunt and Alex Brychta, creators of the Oxford Reading Tree series. Each week, throughout Terms 1, 2 and 3 a new book from the series will be explored, discussed and questions relating to them will be answered in the form of comprehension sheets. The issues and topics covered in the series may be both new and relatable to the children.
15 weeks x CHF70 = CHF1050
Term 2
In Term 2 the children will be encouraged to work more on their own, using all they have learnt thus far. Not only will they be able to take home a personalised amount of books each week but their reading ability now allows them to choose their own books. They can delve into books that interest them from Busy Bees’s vast library of ficition, non-fiction, poetry or even joke books.
11 weeks x CHF70 = CHF770
Term 3
This is the last term your child will attend Busy Bees. We enourage children to take this opportunity to make the most out of Busy Bees’s resources in this final term. Your child will leave the end of term feeling confident and secure in all the knowledge they have gained and be ready to tackle anything that comes their way. It is a sad but exciting time when children leave Busy Bees. Busy Bees hopes that each and every child will leave having a thurst for learning, a love of books and a positive self-image of who they are and what they are capable of.
