5 – 7 year olds (max 6 children per session)
One parent/caregiver must speak enough English to support their child outside of the sessions with their reading and spellings.
Term 1
In Term 1 the children will continue to work on their handwriting and reading skills. They will be following ‘Nelson Spelling’, the UK’s most popular spelling scheme and spell up to 12 words each week. They will also be introduced to the next level of key sight words.

Term 2
In Term 2 the children are introduced to the concept of comprehension alongside their weekly spelling tests. Each week they will read an ‘I Wonder…’ book and answer short questions in relation to its content. We will be starting with ‘I Wonder…Is The Bald Eagle Really Bald?’

Term 3
In Term 3 the children will continue with the next level of ‘I Wonder…’ books stretching their abilities and general knowledge. They will be starting the term off with ‘I Wonder…Why Do Dogs Bury Bones?’. As the children’s reading levels develop they will be able to read at their own pace, taking home a personalised amount of books.
