Busy Bees prides itself on its vast library with the youngest children enjoying picture books coming to life with beautiful soft toys. For those learning to read Busy Bees uses The Oxford Reading Tree, a scheme used by over 80% of UK primary schools. Stories focus on situations that children can recognise from their own experiences, such as a wobbly tooth or losing a favourite toy.

Word family books also aid this initial reading process, building confidence and helping children to recognise different patterns within words.

Moving on from the reading scheme children can find a world of books ranging from simple chapter books to the classics, poetry, playscripts, non-fiction and even joke books.

In order to navigate your child’s reading journey, Busy Bees has developed a rainbow colour system.

Children will start their reading journey on the colour red (wordless books) and progress from there ranging through the levels orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Children attending English Reading and Writing lessons will be given login details. They will be able to login to our wonderful library from home via the button below.
