Term 1
Welcome to a fifth year at Busy Bees where you will find a fresh new curriculum has been put together. Your child will both solidify their acquired knowledge whilst also developing new and exciting skills ideal for language exams and literature studies. Each term the children will read a new novel, starting with The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick, alongside completing Bond papers.
15 weeks x CHF70 = CHF1050
Term 2
Novel studies are considered a backbone to the latter primary curriculum. Exposure to engaging and often more challenging texts provides students opportunities to deepen their thinking and reading comprehension strategies. In Term 2 the children will move onto the novel Holes by Louis Sachar while developing exam strategies and skills through weekly Bond papers under exam conditions.
11 weeks x CHF70 = CHF770
Term 3
In Term 3 the children will discover one final novel. For this Busy Bees has chosen The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Alongside this the children will continue to work on longer and harder Bond papers which were developed 60 years ago to develop students ability to think creatively and solve problems using visual and spatial skills. Moyra Bond published her first books in the 1960s and the brand has remained at the forefront of 11+ exam prep today with the 11+ being the equivalent of the Swiss Gymi exams. They enhance critical thinking, empathy and communication skills while also broadening perspectives on history, culture and human nature spanning different forms of written texts such as fiction, non-fiction, playscripts, poetry, recipes and articles.
10 weeks x CHF70 = CHF700
