Term 1
The goal for this academic year is to both consolidate and broaden the children’s mathematical knowledge so that they become more confident in using and manipulating numbers in countless ways. The core focus will be on times tables, time, sequencing, addition, subtraction, fractions and symmetry.

Term 2
Throughout the terms the children are working on their ability to solve problems and understand what is being asked of them to apply their mathematical knowledge correctly, using appropriate methods and approaches to best reach correct and accurate answers. Much of UK primary maths is made up of written text and as such the students are learning how to decipher and correctly answer maths questions in a fun, safe learning environment.

Term 3
Maths is all around children both at home and at school. From the moment they wake up until they go to bed they are using mathematical skills without realising it, from telling the time to following a recipe. These skills will go through life with the children as they grow into adults. To sharpen these skills and develop good understanding and confidence in how to use and apply them appropriately is not a lesson for school but for life. As such, Busy Bees does its utmost to support, shape and foster a love of the subject.
